NOTES:
Cork says bottled in 2007, poured into a tulip at cellar temp. Straw gold with a small white head.
Nose is just plain stinky. Smells like I opened a barnyard in a bottle. Sour. Rotten eggs. Dung. A little swirl brings out some fruity and flowery notes. Some woody notes start to open up as you let it sit.
Mouthfeel is light bodied with light carbonation. Dry, but not overly.
Taste is a thing of beauty. This is where this beer shines. Perfectly sour. Tart. Dry. A tad bit of citrus (orange, lemon) in the backfield contributing to the balance of the sour.
Drinkability is a hard one. The taste and dryness keep you coming back for more, but the sourness is fatiguing
and the smell is quite frankly tough to keep coming back to.
Overall a monster sour and well worth trying. one of the more interesting and intriguing beers I've had. I'm sure this one would scare a lot of people away, simply from the smell. Being a fan of sours, I wouldn't pass this up if offered again.
